Day 26: Tulsa to Miami OK

The first half of today's 113 mile ride was lovely, riding on rolling back roads with scenic views.

While we spend a bit of time riding through the eastern outskirts of Tulsa, by the time we crossed over the Verdigris River, the country was as delightful as the day.

Horse farms were quite common. Here were a couple of horses nibbling by the road.

Some of the farms themselves were beautiful, but certainly different than the New England farms I normally ride by.

Just after lunch, this bridge marked the the turning point for the day. While this is a historic route 66 bridge, at the stop sign is the current route 66 which we rode on for the next 50 miles.

This is a typical view from the afternoon. The shoulder to the right of the rumble strips often had debris, and I flatted on a piece of wire I did not see.

When I am in my aerobars, as I was for chunks of the afternoon, my view looks something like this except with my hands and forearms in place.

Occasionally, there would be a nice view to one side or the other, but it really was the rarity.

Tomorrow, a week after first entering Oklahoma, we will finally exit the state and enter Missouri. Fully one sixth of our entire trip will have been spent in this state.
