Last Day in Mallorca

Today is my last day in Mallorca. I am currently at a hotel on the beach near the Palma airport.

Last night, it started raining at our hotel and continued throughout the night. In the morning, it had tapered off to a very light drizzle, but the roads were still quite wet. I decided to forgo a final short ride. Yesterday’s ride to the lighthouse seemed like a wonderful way to end the riding week. I saw no reason to get wet or to subject myself to the possibility that I might skid out on the wet and slightly moss covered roads descending a hill.

Instead, I took a leisurely breakfast before packing for the trip to Palma then back home.

I arrived by about 12:30 local time, but my room was not going to be ready until 3pm. After getting some lunch, I walked a couple miles up the shore and back. While the air temperature is only in the upper 50s, the sun was quite strong so the walk was very pleasant.

Vacation has been wonderful, but I am looking forward to getting home. Of course, the weather will be a bit different. Here is a photo Kate took from our front door this morning.

And that is all from Mallorca.
