I spent a week in Costa Rica on a photography trip led by professional bird photographer Mark Smith (YouTube & Instagram). We spent time both in tropical rain forests as well as in mountain cloud forests. I have included all of the bird species for which I have a reasonably photograph just show the variety. In several cases, I have included photos of both male and female birds when they have substantially different appearances. Here is a selection of 59 bird photos as well as a bonus photo of some very cute baby bats.
