Day 6: To The London Bridge

At only 42 miles, today was a leisurely ride up the Colorado River to Lake Havasu, home of the London Bridge.

We started by crossing the Colorado back into California and cycling up the west side of the river. When we reached Parker Dam, we crossed back to the Arizona side and continued our way north.

While still in a desert environment, the landscape has a much more jagged appearance compared to the Mojave.

Along some of the tributaries, there are grasses and greenery, something that has been remarkably absent for the past couple of days.

Of course, when one gets just slightly away from the river, the desert reasserts itself.

While we still have 3 days until we reach the Grand Canyon, the river is already presenting lovely vistas which hint at what is to come.

Finally, we arrived into the town of Lake Havasu and our hotel by the London Bridge. Of course, I needed to text this photo to my younger daughter who is studying in London.
