Day 7: Historic US 66

Today we got to ride on historic US route 66 starting at its beginning in Arizona near the CA boarder.

To get there, we first road north from the London Bridge in Lake Havasu up to Interstate 40 which we then road west on for 10 miles to get to the beginning of 66.

This portion of US Route 66 is simply spectacular as these photos show.

It is comforting to know that no matter how isolated a place is, we can always get a Coke!

There are a number of wild burros living in this area. For the past couple of days, we had been seeing yellow wild burro signs (like deer crossing signs in the NE). Today I finally saw some.

A couple more scenic photos along with a panorama to wrap things up for tonight.
